You might of noticed we took a trip to California recently.
As well as visiting some dear old friends we where lucky enough to meet and work with some incredible people who we can now call new friends.
As always the Americans filled us with enthusiasm! So I'll keep this brief... but here is our guide to LA... look out for our guide to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs.. coming soon.
Eating -
Sqirlla - So theres ALWAYS a queue, but there is good reason for this - we really recommend you wait in line and taste the delights.
Malibu Farm House - Right on the pier in Malibu you don't really get a better location. Food is yummy and you can watch the dolphins passing by.
Great White - Coffee and brunch right near Venice boardwalk.
Wabi Sabi - Abbot Kinney - Japanese inspired delicious food with great spicy martinis.
Toms cafe - Abbot Kinney - try the iced coriander vanilla latte its delicious - a good spot to get some work done too.
Erewhon - Abbot Kinney - The most incredible supermarket, if you think whole foods is good go here its insane. (expensive but insane)
The Butchers Daughter - really good food here lots of Gluten Free, vegan options.
Cafe Gratitude - delicious food and you can get a question of the day such as 'what is love'.
Moon Juice - I mean its crazy expensive for a juice but they are good and you can hear all about the many benefits and pick up some of their dust too....
Sidecar donuts - their is a couple ones in Santa Monica they are delicious.
Bodega Wine Bar in Santa Monica - good for working, a good coffee and good wine.
Deus Ex Machina - In Venice a great spot for coffee and working.
In and Out Burger - I mean if you haven't had one you have to get one - get animal fries just ask for them...
Shopping
Abbot and Kinney has so many nice little boutiques including LCD, Aesop etc.
Platform LA in Culver city has some awesome places such as Shades of Grey Clothing who very kindly housed our jewellery while we where there. Also has incredible brands such as Salt Surf, Poketo, and Reformation.
Row DTLA again it has Shades of Grey who housed our Jewellery. It also has LCD and loads of cool events going on.
Silverlake - really cool area with a ton of great stores - check out Passenger and Mohawk General Store, ooo and get a massage at The NOW - really great.
Other things
Hiking in Topanga or Malibu hills - both beautiful.
Surfing - all along the coast.
Walk down Venice boardwalk just for the experience.
Yoga - I joined this awesome place Surya Yoga. They do a 25$ trial for a week and you could go as much as you wanted I loved the teachers there too. They also do similar deals for the month etc.
Getty Centre - They have some incredible are there but also the views are insane - they look over the whole of LA.
Eames house - really awesome architectually and design wise.
