Portugal Travel Tips + Stockist || ZM Travels

From Lisbon to Lagos First of all we are so stoked to be stocked in the beautiful Makana store in Lagos. Not only do Ellie and Chris (the owners) have an incredibly beautiful store but they also have an incredibly beautiful guesthouse! We flew into Lisbon to shoot our latest collection and then travelled down the coast to Lagos to visit the Makana store. Below we have highlighted our favourite spots.   LX Factory - Lisbon - In the west of the city this little collection of stores and restaurants is really cool - it has the most epic rooftop bar which looks over the water. Hello, Kristof - Lisbon - a cute little coffee store with a great selection...

Sunday Sessions: Wake boarding with Sophie Elwes from Our Adaptive World

Sophie is one of the most magical and inspiring people I have ever met. Her smile is big and welcoming and after a couple of sessions boarding with her we sat down for a little bit more of an insight into her adaptive world.   Your an incredible skier both in the snow and in the water, did you find water skiing an easy transition from the slopes?  I actually did find it quite an easy transition. I was quite strong from all the training on the ski slopes and I developed better balance through skiing. Despite new equipment and a totally different sport I actually found waterskiing/wake-boarding a little more accessible. With skiing it took more travel and cost more to...

Sunday Sessions: Hanging with Tor Founder of Toro Falmouth / Basho Skincare

We popped into Falmouth and met the beautiful Tor, owner of Toro Studio, an amazing plant store in Falmouth. Not only does she run this but she also has an incredible skincare line basho Skincare. Basho Skincare is natural skincare which I use every day. We sat outside the store and had a good old chat to find out more.. What is your morning routine? Usually, I'll take my dog Foxy into the woods or along the river for a nice long walk before work, or depending on the weather I might jump in the sea for a morning dip. Breakfast is a big deal for me, I love the ritual of making a morning coffee at home, and whipping...

ZM Travels: The Desert Collective - Amado, Palm Springs

Created by photographer Jamie Kowal the Amado is a meeting point for artists, dreamers, adventurers and wanderers from all across the Globe.  With this introduction, and after speaking to Jamie I knew I had to stop by. I was lucky enough to stay in one of the 5 apartments. The complex is effortlessly cool with its own private pool. The interiors are second to none with concrete floors, Bolivian textiles and crisp white bedsheets. (with the most enormous beds too) . They also supply Stumptown coffee, tea, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and turkish pool towels.  Its safe to say I was pretty happy to stay here while I was in town.  Also created by Jamie is Ernest coffee...

Anton + Alma

I first met Anton when he contacted me about an engagement ring for his girlfriend Alma. When we first met over a coffee I knew this was going to be an exciting commission. We talked about Alma and her interests to get a feel for what this ring would be like. Alma is an incredible ceramist and much of her work is inspired by the likes of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.  So with her ring we wanted to create a piece that was totally her.  Many coffees later along with Anton showing me pictures and talking about Alma we hand carved this beautiful ring with texture on one side and polished on the other.  After hearing so much about...

Sunday Sessions: Hanging with Vivian Kim in Southern California

Hanging in Southern California with Vivian Kim I met Vivian on my last trip out to LA. I had a little pop up and was looking to shoot my two new collections. As soon as I met her for coffee and a doughnut it honestly felt like I had known her all my life. We planned a shoot day and had so much fun cruising from beach to mountains shooting my two new collections.   As always its the people you meet who make a place Vivian was for sure one of the people in LA who made it for me. She's a photographer, foodie, longboard surfer and has an insane dog called Brixton.....   How did you fall into photography?...

ZM Travels: Desert Days - Joshua Tree

Bianca wears Marmo Earrings and Marmo Pendant. My Time in the Desert at Joshua Tree Pictured above is Bianca, she owns some of the most beautiful houses in Joshua Tree and fortunately for us they're all available to rent on Airbnb. You can browse her properties here. She was an incredibly gracious host and kindly modelled some of my new pieces around her property. Joshua tree is a couple hours inland from LA and is a little oasis of calm. The house was perfectly kitted out from locally sourced tea to yoga mats that came in handy for my sunrise yoga sessions. If you're an early bird like me and take any opportunity to catch a beautiful sunrise, I can't think...
