Sunday Sessions: On the Road with Sophie Hellyer

So this week we have had a little chat with Sophie Hellyer. Sophie Hellyer is a surfer, environmentalist & writer living on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. With English and British surfing titles Sophie Hellyer loves the ocean. She has worked with the likes of Finisterre, Toyota and Hunter Boots. She is passionate about creating positive social change and protecting our oceans. So listen up for her notes on the road...   What's the most importing thing to take with you on a Roadtrip.. this can be a few items...  I try to take my flask, keep cup, metal straw, water bottle, spork and bamboo toothbrush everywhere! It's SO hard to avoid single use plastics on the road and these items make...

This week we jumped on the road with Tall Small Travel over in LA.  These two love birds met over a decade ago in Boston. Silas originally from Maine and Stacey originally from Rhode Island they moved to California together.  Separately they have had some pretty awesome adventures (I actually met Silas on a trip in South America), and together they have continued this journey!  Stacey after working as Social Media Editor for the Los Angeles Times and Digital Director at GOOD Magazine now freelances on a variety of projects. Sunday Sessions: On the Road with William Thomson

This week we sat down with author and adventurer William Thomson. After converting a van, William, Naomi (his partner) Ottie (their new born baby) and Alfie (their dog) did an epic trip around the coast of Britain. Soon after William released The Book of Tides, its a hugely insightful and interesting guide to the tides around our island.  They have since spent time travelling in Europe and beyond and have just launched the new book - The World Book of Tides. They have also added to the family with new baby Arva.      Heres a little insight into some of their best roads...    What's the most importing thing to take with you on a Roadtrip.. this can be...

Sunday Sessions: On the Road with Ashley Watson

So as a little intro, with the launch of our new collection ROADS every Sunday we will be jumping on the road with someone.  This week we are on the road with Ashley Watson. Ashley combines his passions for design and motorcycles to engineer the most incredible motorcycle clothing and he's been on some pretty epic roadtrips..  What's the most importing thing to take with you on a Roadtrip?  A pencil and sketchbook, without a doubt. When I'm out riding it's a chance to step out of the day to day - for the distraction to fall away, for my imagination to run. All of the projects I’m currently developing stem from ideas that I’ve had on one trip or...

ZM Travels: Adventuring around NYC....

This last week I had a whirlwind of a week in NYC..... heres my top tips, from food to shops to trips out the city....  Food... as in London, NYC offers some incredible places... from Soho to Williamsburg, East village to Brooklyn.  Calaca Brooklyn - a tiny Mexican place serving great Margarita's and some top noch Mexican food! Get there early to avoid disappointment - its a really small place and they stop serving food at 9pm...  In East Village there are a ton of tasty looking places but we ate at Hanoi House which was delicious and topped of by a good Vietnamese coffee to satisfy the sweet tooth. The Butcher's Daughter in Soho was yum, with a super...

A behind the scene look at ROADs

Finally my new collection is here - ROADs.  We shot this collection on Dartmoor and of course no shoot comes without an adventure. We left London at 7pm Friday, and didn't get down to the national park until around 1am. After a few hours snooze we got back up ready to shoot at dawn. It was a little chilly but the stillness of dartmoor at this time is amazing. We where only interrupted by wandering sheep and around 10 wild horses who ran wild past us. Its a magical place dartmoor, and I later got told there is a pub thats fire has been burning for 200 years... thats on the list for the next trip. After a cold but...

Make Natural Deodorant

Today Ren London and I spent the day making natural deodorant to keep you smelling fresh but without putting all those nasty chemicals in your body. For many years now the both of us have been trying different store bought natural formulas, and so we thought we would give it a go ourselves. This way know exactly what goes in it, and we can customise our own scents using organic essential oils.   Using natural deodorant is so important as all leading commercial brands are known to include carcinogenic chemicals along with many other nasties. So its time to quit the Sure and Dove and get on the good stuff...  Know whats in your deodorant: Organic tapioca starch Organic bi carb...

ZM Travels: French Roadtrips

So we jumped ship and went away in Otis the Van for a couple of weeks. Here are some of our best bits...  Forte Saint-Elme in Collioure is an amazing landmark to walk up to and over look the bay, and then cool off with a swim in town. We grabbed some delicious food from the Sunday market and had picnics in the evening. San Sebastian - A rainy day here but we parked the van on the edge of the ocean, where we woke up to a pretty spectacular view. Go for a surf or swim in the water. We love Biarritz its a beautiful town to have a wander around. Be sure to walk on all the little...
